PILONIDAL SINUS

It is a common misconception that pilonidal sinus only affects young men. Women can also have a pilonidal sinus although it is less common. With a pilonidal sinus you usually have a clump of small hairs underneath the skin in a small cavity. This causes chronic infection and the only sure way of treating this is with surgery. Depending on the extent of the disease, a number of options are available. As well as the more conventional treatment, I also offer more minimally invasive options (using tissue glue) in suitable cases.
